Feed System Failure
Failure Symptoms: Abnormal movement of coordinate axes, poor positioning accuracy.
Possible Causes:
- Poor lubrication or wear of the guide rails, resulting in increased friction resistance.
- Excessive clearance or wear of the ball screw assembly, causing backlash.
- Loose or damaged coupling, resulting in misalignment of the transmission.
Troubleshooting Methods:
- Check the operating status of the guide rail lubrication pump and replenish lubricating oil.
- Use a dial indicator to measure the screw clearance, and eliminate the clearance by adjusting the preload nut or replacing the screw assembly.
- Tighten the coupling bolts; if the coupling's elastic elements are damaged, replace them promptly.
Spindle Failure
Failure Symptoms: Spindle noise, unstable speed, and severe overheating.
Possible Causes:
- Wear or insufficient lubrication of the spindle bearings, resulting in poor operation.
- Loose or worn belt, causing transmission slippage.
- Excessive deviation in the coaxiality between the spindle motor and the spindle.
Troubleshooting Methods:
- Disassemble the spindle housing and inspect the bearing clearance.
- Adjust the belt tension or replace the belt.
- Use a dial indicator to calibrate the coaxiality between the motor and spindle, then reinstall the coupling sleeve.
Servo motor failure
Failure symptoms: Motor does not rotate, overheating alarm, vibration during operation.
Possible causes:
- Poor connection or damage to the encoder cable.
- Incorrect servo drive parameter settings.
- Motor winding short circuit or ground fault.
Troubleshooting methods:
- Check the encoder cable connector, reinsert or replace the cable.
- Restore the drive to default parameters and gradually adjust the gain parameters.
- Measure the winding insulation resistance with a megohmmeter; replace the motor if a short circuit is detected.
Program Operation Failure
Failure Symptoms: Program interruption, alarm prompts, abnormal tool path.
Possible Causes:
- Programming errors
- Lost or incorrectly modified system parameters
- Memory failure causing program read errors
Troubleshooting methods:
- Check program syntax (e.g., G-code and M-code matching), correct out-of-range coordinates, or add feed rate.
- Enter the parameter interface and restore the default values for soft limit parameters.
- Format the system memory or replace the memory card. Back up the program before formatting.
